About San Mateo: Homes for Sale
San Mateo is truly one of the most fantastic places to live in the country. It is surrounded by fresh air, miles of unspoiled beaches, open spaces, redwood forests, hiking and biking trails, and much more. There’s also the added benefit of the close proximity to the Silicon Valley and San Francisco which is only 20 minutes away. Residents enjoy ample natural beauty. The area is bordered by nearly 60 miles of Pacific coastline to the west, 30 miles of San Francisco Bay shoreline to the east, and then the Santa Cruz Mountains run along its center.

The Downtown is one of the most well-developed suburban downtowns in the San Francisco Bay Area. Downtown San Mateo contains over 800 shops and restaurants. Hillsdale Mall is another great spot. This is the largest mall in San Mateo County, and it features stores and restaurants like Aldo, Banana Republic, Macy’s, California Pizza Kitchen, Coach, Nordstrom.
